Motion acupuncture for musculoskeletal pain: principles and methods

ABSTRACT
Musculoskeletal Pain is a common disorder with diverse etiology. Among variety of modalities that are currently used in clinic, acupuncture has gained widespread popularity for treating musculoskeletal pain. In this article, we aim to introduce novel technique, termed motion acupuncture, the treatment pain, which characteristic carrying out active or passive motions body parts by patients under supervision an acupuncturist, needles inserted and retained points. Motion mainly composed three procedures: finding targets (target examination), inserting needles, performing retained. Application our daily clinic shown rapid efficacy alleviating pain caused various etiologies. principles methods described, underlying mechanisms action reviewed discussed.
