ABSTRACT
Communist ideology transformed the size, functions, structure and legal foundations of family in Soviet Russia. There were objective subjective factors which brought about active reforms 1920s: involved modernization processes society, while ones conscious attempts to construct institution accordance with idealized concept future society. The 1920s reform generated multiple types, shaped particular by ideological concepts beliefs. This paper analyzes data from a unique source, All-Russia Party Census 1922, provides information number people ratio workers dependents members’ families. members constituted social group was most susceptible ideology, renders their particularly interesting. These also reflect general trends early society scale. We put special emphasis on analysis new forms such as communal family, ‘revolutionary’ so on.
