ABSTRACT
This study uses the capability approach to undertake a multidimensional analysis of deprivation in urban areas Brazil between 2003 and 2008 based on four-dimensional index (living conditions, health, level education participation labour market) constructed out 13 different indicators. Its findings indicate that majority population is living households are not experiencing that, those are, instance confined single indicator. When results were then compared with income-poverty for states Brazil, outcome confirmed regional inequalities show up both types measurements. Finally, synthetic cohort data ordinary least squares (ols) models used relationship personal attributes propensity lapse into poverty and/or remain poor.
