ABSTRACT
Background: Esophageal spasm is a common problem after Foreign Body Ingestion (FBI) and causes difficulties for foreign bodies’ removal by endoscopic intervention. Sometimes, medication may help relieve spasms facilitate the of body. In current study, we introduce patient with esophageal due to FBI whom intravenous nitroglycerin was used treat spasm. Methods: The 48-year-old man who admitted emergency department Shohadaye Tajrish academic Hospital, Tehran, Iran following sever mid-anterior neck pain, nausea drooling. His vital signs were normal during procedure, noticed sharp object attached wall upper third esophagus, causing severe After trying an hour remove glass under general anesthesia, not able it. Finally, it easily removed 2 minutes. Conclusion: Due inconsistencies in clinical results nitroglycerin, as notable lack studies are investigating effectiveness method, aimed share our successful experience.
