ABSTRACT
Telmatherina prognatha is an endemic fish of the Matano Lake, in Indonesia, which demands a very crucial reproductive study, especially based on habitat conservation. This research, therefore, aims at analyzing its reproduction function as basic information for resource management Lake. Furthermore, investigation was conducted from March 2018 to February 2019 six sampling spots, where conditions, including physicochemical characteristics water, were observed monthly. Also, sampled using multifilament net that 0.5 inches mesh size and subsequently measured total length, body weight, gonad maturity. Moreover, number specimens approximately 1809 individuals (n), encompassing both sexes male (1059) female (750), possessed length ranges 36.46 – 72.00 mm 32.93 66.20 mm, respectively. However, sex ratio obtained 1.4: 1, those with matured maturing gonads found each sampling’s month, most all, spent gonads, are commonly discovered February, March, April. 50% probability maturity estimated 57.31 males 45.16 females, while mean gonadal somatic indices (GSI) 1.72±1.39 4.12±1.74, Therefore, fecundity this species be range 77-299 eggs, oocyte diameter between 0.11 1.37 mm.
