ABSTRACT
The lesson learned from the severe accident of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant shows that residual heat generated spent fuel should be cooled properly. In order to absorb when station blackout occurs, wickless-heat pipe is proposed used as an alternative passive cooling system in pool. objective this research simulation effect initial pressure and evaporator filling ratio factors influence thermal performance pipe. results will validated with experiment results. model was built simulated using thermal-hydraulic code RELAP5/MOD3.2. similarly it has same geometry test section. simulation, inside are varied. varied on -54 cm Hg, -64 -74 40%, 60%, 80%. load evaporator, coolant temperature, volumetric flow rate were kept constant. obtained show resistance 0.005°C/W. It showed have good agreement results, can simulate transfer phenomena different values input parameter. RELAP5/MOD3.2 been verified by experimental result a steady state condition.
