ABSTRACT
Delivery of cell therapies often requires the ability to hold products in readiness whilst logistical, regulatory and potency considerations are dealt with recorded.This reversibly stopping biological time, a process which is achieved by cryopreservation.However, cryopreservation itself poses many biophysical challenges living cells that need be understood order apply low temperature technologies their best advantage.This review sets out history applied cryopreservation, our current understanding various processes involved storage at cryogenic temperatures, for robust reliable uses within therapy arena.
