ABSTRACT
Secondary glioblastomas (GBs) constitute a small subset of all GBs and tend to arise after lower grade glioma. Though knowledge regarding this has gained traction in recent years, its definition continues evolve, complicating clinical management. Investigation epidemiology survival patterns may help provide needed insights. The age at GB diagnosis is significantly (46.22 vs 60.25 years) for group B. The distribution among type (glioblastoma, giant cell glioblastoma, or gliosarcoma) was different, with no Group Compared A, B exhibited higher proportion females, not married, smaller tumors, GTR, radiation (all p < 0.05). GB-related observed survivals were comparable. Cox regression inclusion co-variates reveal significant influence on survival. Regarding B, mean 40.197 initial most common ICD-O-3 pathology oligodendroglioma, NOS; astrocytoma, anaplastic; mixed glioma. The SEER-18 registry queried patients GBs. Patients further classified into two groups: A - those as the only primary tumor, 2nd subsequent tumor history gliomas. Demographics factors compared between Appropriate statistics employed calculate incidences differences groups.Overall, develops an earlier age, but remains similar primary. Moreover, also exhibit different proportions types GBs, well other key (namely, gender size presentation). Prior treatments gliomas likely explain some noted management course GB.
