ABSTRACT
Introduction . Classical trigeminal neuralgia is caused by the compression of nerve root and often requires surgical intervention due to maladaptive intense pain syndrome. Both arteries veins are considered compressing vessels, however, role venous in development remains undefined. The aim study was investigate effectiveness microvascular decompression treatment compression, considering use various tactics. Material methods A retrospective analysis outcomes 70 patients who underwent for at Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk, Russia) between 2017 2021 conducted. included 46 women 24 men aged 23–82 years with unilateral facial pain. Brain MRI performed preoperatively evaluate neuroimaging picture clarify relationships adjacent vessels. results were assessed during follow-up using Barrow Neurological Institution (BNI) scale. Results showed that neurovascular frequently found undergoing 26.9 % cases. Various operative strategies used when detected, high short-term success rates lower recurrence rates. Long-term monitoring indicated relief 71.4 cases (BNI I–II) 28.6 III, IV, V). Conclusion This highlights treating classical emphasizes importance individual tactics based on characteristics achieve optimal results.
