ABSTRACT
This research is aimed at inquiring the use of small group discussions in improvement speaking skills studied classroom action (CAR). The population was eighth-grade students SMPN 2 Curug consist thirty students. researchers used one class as a control group. Based result this study, implemented two cycles; every cycle consists planning, acting, observing and reflecting. first identified problem. second collected analysed data. third observing, stage developed plan to make change these changes. reflects components research. It critical consider impact changes made when mean score on test before carrying out Class Action Research (CAR) 57,5 for pretest post-test 64,7 cycle, student’s treatment. And 70,6 after using discussion. means that post greater than pre-test. Thus, discussion can improve students’ ability eighth-year Curug.
