Human-wildlife conflicts in Mexico: Review of status and perspectives

ABSTRACT
Human wildlife conflicts (HWC) represent a global challenge for the conservation of species. We registered all available scientific publications on this subject from 1983 to 2017, in order analyze HWC research performed Mexico. Our results indicate that has been scarcely studied, with less than half studies published journals. The reviewed documents focus description and quantification damage by wildlife, total 112 species mentioned including birds, amphibians, mammals reptiles crops, livestock, poultry, human health. Of these, nine made up 41% amount were mentioned. believe adequate management resolution requires participation training groups multidisciplinary scientists technicians. Research Mexico is scarce recent mostly promoted programs strategies implemented federal government.
