ABSTRACT
Background: Oral Nutrition Supplements (ONS) in the Minister of Health Regulation No. 29 year 2019 which was made as guidance nutritional management for children with problems, especially growth failure (still prevalent) and became one Indonesia governments’ goal MDG’s achievement. Objectives: To describe regulations distributions ONS a strategy to reach optimal catch-up under 5 years-old private hospital Surabaya based on 2019. Also determine effect insulin-like factor-1 (IGF-1) marker lymphocytes immune cells involved response. Methods: A quasi-experiment pre-post design involving aged 12-60 months old. The subjects received 400 ml (~400 kcal/day estimated requirement 1000 kcal/day) provision pediatrician an adjuvant cover their nutrients deficits. Results: intervention along dietary counselling therapy medication improved children’s growths parameters, including body weight (from 10.38±2.28kg at day-0 11.27±2.38 day-90, p-value=0.000) length/height significantly 82.94±9.58cm 85.75±8.93 p-value=0.000). also IGF-1 failure. Conclusions: proved improve levels, but not number lymphocyte cells. regulation must be professional it has increase rapidly stopped when receive prescription reached growth.
