ABSTRACT
Background: The pain experienced by Nucleus Pulposus Herniation (NPH) patients can have an impact on productivity and may lead to disability. Therefore, non-pharmacological therapies serve as alternatives in reducing levels for Grade I II NPH patients. Purpose: To compare the difference effectiveness between Infrared-Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (IR-TENS) combination Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) among Method: This research employed a quasi-experimental design with two group before after intervention conducted at Physical Medicine Rehabilitation Unit of Royal Prima Hospital Medan. A total 20 were provided interventions, consisting IR TENS 10 patients, PNF therapy other administered eight times one month. Pain measurement was using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) questionnaire interventions. statistical analysis Independent Sample T test, significance level (α) set 0.05. Result: There reduction moderate severe scales both groups, no subjects experiencing anymore. However, scale higher receiving infrared (80%) compared (70%). test showed that there significant IR-TENS (p-value = 0.075). Conclusion: Both groups although outcome treatment groups. implies are equally effective suppressing
