ABSTRACT
The nature of the interaction between Th17 cells and blood-brain barrier (BBB) is critical for development autoimmune inflammation in central nervous system (CNS). TNF-a or IL-17 stimulation known to enhance adherence brain endothelium. endothelial (bEnd.3) express VCAM-1, receptor responsible inflammatory cell adhesion, which binds VLA-4 on migrating effector lymphocytes at early stage inflammation. present study examines effect pro-inflammatory cytokines bEnd.3 were found increase production CCL2 CXCL1 after by cytokines, while CCL2, CCL5, CCL20 IL17 induced migration through a monolayer. This endothelium appears be mediated VCAM-1 some chemotactic cytokines. observation may suggest potential therapeutic targets prevention neuroinflammation CNS.
