ABSTRACT
The slaughter value of live animals can be assessed during visual conformation scoring, as well by examining different molecular genetic information, e.g. myostatin gene, which re-sponsible for muscle development. In this study F94L, Q204X, nt267, nt324 and nt414 alleles the gene were examined in relation to birth weight (BIW), calving ease (CAE), 205-day weaning (CWW), score shoulder (MSS), back (MSB), thigh (MST), roundness (RST), loin thickness (LTS), overall development percentage (OMP) Charolais weaned calves Hungary. Multi-trait analysis variance (GLM) weighted linear regression used process data. Calves carrying Q204X allele heterozygous form achieved approximately 0.14 points higher MSB, MST LTS 1.2% OMP gained 8.56 kg more CWW than their counterparts not (p<0.05). As F94L allele, there was a difference 4.08 animals, but could proved statistically. other had no significant effect on evaluated traits.
