ABSTRACT
Background: Aedes albopictus, the Asian Tiger Mosquito, has become a prevalent pest in Italy, causing severe nuisance and posing threat of transmission arboviruses introduced by infected travellers. In this study, we investigated influence weather parameters on seasonal population density albopictus.
Methods: A Bayesian approach was employed to identify best meteorological predictors species trend, using eggs collected monthly from 2010 2022 Emilia-Romagna regional monitoring network.
Results: The findings show that winter-spring period (January May) plays crucial role size first generation development species.
Conclusions: temperate winter dry cold March, followed rainy hot spring July, seem favour Ae. albopictus.
