ABSTRACT
An estimated 38 million individuals, out of a total population around 126 million, reside in urban areas Bangladesh. The surge urbanization and water consumption has led to significant rise waterborne sanitation systems within the country. One cost-effective solution for wastewater treatment is utilization septic tanks, which operate as anaerobic reactors, with their efficiency being closely tied temperature conditions. This research focuses on evaluating organic removal capabilities tank located Khulna University Engineering Technology (KUET) campus. results show that tank's ability remove matter depends temperature, higher temperatures making process more effective. Additionally, Total Suspended Solids (TSS) levels were observed range 110–280 mg/L, 200–1030 160–880 190–220 mg/L 1st, 2nd, 3rd chambers, respectively. maximum recorded pH values 7.14, 7.13, 7.11, while minimum 7.06, 7.05, 7.04, corresponding same chambers. Furthermore, concerning dissolved oxygen (DO), nitrate (NO3-N), remained acceptable limits. These suggest simple unit like can effectively render previously unacceptable unhygienic suitable safe disposal potential reuse, ultimately improving management wastewater.
