Red Code Management in Pediatric Emergency Department: A Retrospective Study

ABSTRACT
The “red code” (RD) represents the highest levels of emergency in department (ED). study retrospectively analyzed RDs Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital ED, a regional referral center north Italy, between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2023. aim was to describe RD characteristics identify significant correlations presenting complaints clinical management. includes 934 (0.9% overall ED admissions); 64% were assigned based on Pediatric Assessment Triangle alteration. Most patients, 86.5%, followed medical pathway, while 13.5% surgical cases. Admission respiratory (46.9%), neuropsychiatric (26.7%), traumatic (11.8%), cardiologic (9.3%), metabolic (3.8%), (1.5%). Seventy-six per cent patients received vascular access, intraosseous access obtained 2.2% them.
