ABSTRACT
Infections caused by the protozoans Entamoeba histolytica (E. histolytica), Giardia lamblia (G. lamblia), and Trichomonas vaginalis (T. vaginalis) represent a global public health concern. Albendazole mebendazole are drugs used to treat parasitosis resulting from protozoa. However, low aqueous solubility of these compounds has led exploration new strategies enhance their solubility, with formation salts being commonly employed strategy. The sulfonates A1, A2, A3 albendazole, M1, M2, M3 were synthesized, antiparasitic activity was determined in vitro against trophozoites E. histolytica, G. lamblia, T. vaginalis. Consequently, IC50 values ranged 24.17 138.02 µM for albendazole salts. For comparison, positive controls—albendazole, mebendazole, metronidazole—ranged 16.08 270.66 µM. Additionally, it that A3, do not exhibit cytotoxic effects at concentrations 500 on VERO cell line. Taken together, findings indicate solid saline phases enhances vitro, which is crucial current search improved, safe, effective agents.
