Changes of BMI and Fat Mass and Nutritional Behaviors in Children Between 10 and 14 Years of Age

ABSTRACT
Background/Objectives: Unhealthy nutritional behaviors and excess body weight constitute a serious challenge for public health in children adolescents. The aim of this study was to examine changes mass index (BMI), fat (FM) the same group during 4-year observation between 10th 14th years age. Methods: BMI FM using bioelectrical impedance were assessed. To assess behavior, questionnaire used. done 250 children, starting from age 10 finishing at 14. measurements year 2017 2021. results compared analysed. Results: excessive (overweight obesity) more often girls (28.29%) than boys (23.63%), while normal (65.76%) (60.96%). Between initial final assessment, percentage with decreased 65.65% 61.07%. Excessive increased 27.09% 29.50% girls, 21.26% 26.00% boys. mean higher (23.17% vs. 16.20%, respectively). 17.80% 14.60% 21.77% 24.57% girls. poor observed 20.35% (22.25%) (18.50%). an increase consumption fruit, whole grain bread, milk noted. These products that should be consumed healthy diet. However, limited diet as fried flour dishes, meat fatty cheeses, butter, fast food, sweets, carbonated drinks, also increased. Boys red poultry meat, eggs, food vegetables, yoghurts, cottage cheese, wholemeal sweets. Conclusions: Children usually showed moderate behavior. With age, evaluated unfavorable share A overweight obesity content Although girls’ healthy, they risk weight. Increasing promotion elevated physical activity decrease adolescents is highly recommended.
