ABSTRACT
The changes in body composition markers (weight, fat mass, lean and BMI) over time can be associated with TB treatment outcome among HIV-infected patients. aim of this study was to investigate whether mass were the response patients HIV infection pulmonary tuberculosis. This a prospective cohort study. Data from commencing therapy analyzed. This included weight measurement using bioimpedance equipment at baseline, one month, two months after starting treatment. The conducted 125 patients, 17 (13.6%) died during treatment, which 5 first month 4 second 8 month. group good response, increased their by 1.3 kg (p <0.001) end 2.6 <0.001), increase 1.2 Kg 2.3 respectively. who had lost 2.1 3.7 <0.001).Our results show that change (increased mass) helps us predict therapeutic response. Weight loss should evaluated thoroughly identify probable cause failure.
