ABSTRACT
The rate of detection small pulmonary nodules (SPNs) has increased. Thoracoscopic resection following image-guided localization had been a reliable alternative in their treatment. We present our experience with dye using robotic C-arm computed tomography (CT) followed by immediate video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for SPNs hybrid operating room (OR).From July 2015 to 2016, 25 consecutive patients smaller than 2 cm underwent CT-guided blue tattooing VATS OR. Their medical records were retrospectively reviewed evaluate the feasibility and safety this novel procedure.Robotic was successfully performed 23 (92%). Wound extension required nodule identification remaining two patients. median size 1.0 (range, 0.6-2.0 cm). needle time 46 109 min, respectively. All successful lesions. pathological diagnoses primary lung adenocarcinoma 18 (72%), benign tumors 5 (20%), metastatic lesions (8%). There no operative mortality. length postoperative stay 3 days 2-8 days). Complications noted One patient penetrating injury diaphragm during localization. other pneumonia postoperatively. Both managed conservatively. Our showed that OR is safe feasible. It may become an effective attractive managing SPNs.
