ABSTRACT
We investigated the frequency of alternative tobacco product use (loose leaf, moist snuff, snus, dissolvables, electronic cigarettes [e-cigarettes]) among smokers and association with quit attempts intentions.A nationally representative probability-based cross-sectional survey 1836 current or recently former adult was completed in November 2011. Multivariate logistic regressions evaluated associations between smoking cessation behaviors.Of smokers, 38% had tried an product, most frequently e-cigarettes. Alternative associated having made a attempt, those intending to were significantly more likely have currently products than no intentions quit. Use not successful attempts. Interest future low, except for e-cigarettes.Alternative are attractive who want smoking, but these data did indicate that promote cessation.
