ABSTRACT
Background: Recent advances in the understanding of anatomy and function acetabular labrum suggest that it is important for normal joint function. We found no available data regarding whether labral refixation after treatment femoro-acetabular impingement affects clinical radiographic results. Methods: retrospectively reviewed results fifty-two patients (sixty hips) with who underwent arthrotomy surgical dislocation hip to allow trimming rim femoral osteochondroplasty. In first twenty-five hips, torn was resected (Group 1); next thirty-five intact portion reattached 2). At one two years postoperatively, Merle d'Aubigné score Tönnis arthrosis classification system were used compare groups. Results: year both groups showed a significant improvement their scores (mainly pain reduction) compared preoperative values (p = 0.0003 Group 1 p < 0.0001 28% hips (labral resection) had an excellent result, 48% good 20% moderate 4% poor result. contrast, 2 reattachment), 80% 14% 6% Comparison between revealed significantly better outcomes at 0.0001) 0.01). Radiographic signs osteoarthritis more prevalent than 0.02) 0.009). Conclusions: Patients treated recovered earlier superior when undergone resection labrum. Although must be considered preliminary, we now recommend during impingement. Level Evidence: Therapeutic III. See Instructions Authors complete description levels evidence.
