Training Translators for the Tourism Industry in the L2/LSP Classroom through TV Series

ABSTRACT
This work is contextualised in the field of Translation and Interpreting, more precisely tourism translation, falls within area translator training. The study part a larger project on adoption strategies for acquisition intercultural communicative competence (ICC) by T&I students second language (L2) classrooms. article examines how use TV series can be an effective method not only to improve competence, but also enhance learners’ general knowledge foreign culture(s); develop their awareness, especially through subtitles (both same-language translated subtitles); translation skills, this case, relation translation. Thus, paper argues that help trainee translators’ prepare them professional mediators they used as parallel texts includes sample task-based activities empower future translators industry overcome ambiguity misunderstandings, achieve fruitful dialogue between people different cultures −a key aspect taken into account industry. finally concludes with evaluation these supported results questionnaire administered group who benefited from learning experience. findings confirm effectiveness improving both communication skills.
