ABSTRACT
An operational forecasting system for nearshore waves and wave-induced currents is presented. The (FS) has been built to provide real time information about conditions beach safety purposes. The in a modular way with four different autonomous submodels providing, twice day, 36-hour wave current forecast, temporal resolution of 1 hour.Making use mild slope parabolic model, the propagates hourly deep water spectra shore. The resulting radiation stresses are introduced depth-integrated Navier-Stokes model derive fields. The implemented located northeastern part Mallorca Island (western Mediterranean), characterized by its high touristic pressure during summer season. The FS running 3 years valuable tool local authorities management.
