ABSTRACT
A nonregenerated silk-fibroin nanofiber film (FNF) was prepared from silk cocoon via a simple watergrinding treatment in never-dried state and paper-making process after sericins were removed. Fibers 150‒ 200 nm width observed the atomic force microscopy micrographs of surface films, confirming that fine nanofibers successfully obtained by grinding treatment. Moreover, FNF maintained its β-sheet structure. Conventional regenerated fibroin films also for comparison their morphological, mechanical, thermal properties with those FNF. The elastic modulus higher than conventional films. exhibited superior durability. native structure should be useful development high-performance silk-based materials.
