ABSTRACT
Abstract Background: Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) is a strategy developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF in 1992. It was deployed as an integrated approach to improve children's health world. This divided into three components: organizational, clinical, communitarian. If related factors low- middle-income countries are known, likelihood decreasing infant morbidity mortality rates could be increased. Objective: To identify, from clinical component strategy, at 18 Colombian cities. Methods: A quantitative cross-sectional study performed with secondary analysis databases conducted Colombia Public group Universidad de Los Andes 2016. An Care Index calculated dependent variable descriptive bivariate multivariate analyses find relationship between this index relevant variables literature. Results: Information obtained 165 medical appointments made nurses, general practitioners, pediatricians. access given mainly urban area, first level care outpatient context. Essential medicines availability, necessary supplies, second care, appointment periods longer than 30 minutes child under months often higher Conclusion: provided children five remains incomplete because it does not present basic minimums for adequate IMCI´s implementation country. provide that provides medicine availability essential supplies reduce barriers system's fragmentation.
