ABSTRACT
Many producers and veterinarians report injection of products in the rear legs or hip due to convenience lack access neck. Provision an acceptable site that can be accessed from behind cow for administration therapeutics may improve compliance beef products. The authors propose ischiorectal fossa (IRF), located adjacent tailhead craniomedial tuber ischia, as alternate cattle. A suitable drug use proof concept is Prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α), given physiological outcome variable (luteolysis) detected by a decline serum progesterone. Colazo et al demonstrated PGF2α IRF IM neck resulted similar rates luteolysis (2002). However, Chebel found difference time estrus heifers prostaglandin analog either subcutaneously (2007). objective this study was determine if results at Our goal provide with alternative current practice harmful injections legs.
