However, studies on misdiagnoses Eastern countries lacking. Therefore, this study focused pathological features MN or SK a Chinese population. A total 4592 samples clinically diagnosed (n = 3503) 1089) July 2014 to June 2022 were collected evaluated retrospectively. data analyzed identify factors. Pathological assessments showed that 2.5% (86/3503) specimens malignancies, predominantly basal cell carcinoma (BCC, 84.9%, 73/86), followed by melanoma (MM, 8.1%, 7/86) squamous (SCC, 7.0%, 6/86). Similarly, 5.7% (62/1089) tumors, which BCC (50.0%, 31/62) was most common, SCC (41.9%, 26/62) MM (8.1%, 5/62). both types specimens, advanced age facial risk factors for malignancy misdiagnosis. rate, mean age, proportion higher than MN. Dermoscopy reduced rate misdiagnosis SK. China, not uncommon active introduction noninvasive diagnostic techniques is essential distinguish them.
