ABSTRACT
Functional constipation is a common and annoying gastrointestinal disorder among children worldwide in which the intestinal microbiota composition plays fundamental role. This study aimed to compare quantity of main Lactobacillus species constipated healthy controls.Fecal samples were collected from 40 fulfilling Rome IV criteria for functional volunteers. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) method with species-specific primers was used investigate seven fecal samples.Lactobacillus strains patient group different controls, differences being noticeable decrease population reuteri (mean 102.61 CFU/gram feces) lower abundance fermentum (p<0.0001).Lactobacillus might be quantitatively altered childhood constipation. Our findings on showed significantly decreased compared subjects.
