ABSTRACT
Purpose: The purpose of the present study was to identify variability blood pressure response a 10-week resistance training (RT) program in hypertensive and normotensive elderly women. Participants methods: Twenty-seven untrained 12 women participated study. A whole-body RT performed on two nonconsecutive days per week for 10 weeks. responsiveness resting systolic (SBP) determined based percent decline between pre- post-training time points T1 T4. term responders were used describe subjects who exhibited SBP ≥−2.58% nonresponders <−2.58%, respectively. Results: Both group presented significant changes (−7.83 ± 5.70 mmHg vs 3.78 7.42 mmHg), Moreover, as well (−8.58 5.52 5.71 3.84 mmHg). Conclusion: presents heterogeneous controlled different modality additional therapies should be order decrease SBP. Keywords: training, exercise, hypertension, responsiveness, elderly, obesity
