ABSTRACT
Introduction: Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is regarded as a crucial process of invasion and metastasis, which contribute greatly to cancer-related relapse death. Based on research results that hypoxia can trigger gastric cancer EMT decreasing lactate production selectively kill hypoxic cells, we infer dehydrogenase A (LDH-A) transforming pyruvate into at least in part responsible for poor prognosis cancer. Materials methods: We used siRNA knock down LDH-A intestinal-type (ITGC) cell lines SGC7901 BGC823. Western blot RT-PCR were applied detect mRNA protein expression EMT-related genes, respectively. Transwell assay migration study invasive migratory abilities, Survival analysis was evaluate prognostic values. Results conclusion: The vitro experiment demonstrated facilitates ITGC cells' by upregulating ZEB2. positive correlation between ZEB2 verified 371 specimens. indicated co-expression LDH-A/ZEB2 had synergetic power predict overall survival. Thus, conclude the close relationship may offer potential therapeutic strategy ITGC. Keywords: cancer, LDH-A, ZEB2, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, Warburg effect, glycolysis
