ABSTRACT
Abstract: Chronic cough is a common complaint and frequent cause of medical consultation. Its management can be difficult. We present here an overview the current guidelines for chronic cough. Different steps are detailed, including initial research obvious etiology alert signs that should lead to further investigation underlying condition. The diagnosis most causes: asthma, non-asthmatic eosinophilic bronchitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease upper airway syndrome considered, assessed treated accordingly. Recent advances have been made in comprehension refractory pathophysiology as well its pharmacologic non-pharmacologic treatment, especially speech pathology therapy.
