ABSTRACT
Background: Emergency surgery for colon cancer is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates.Herein, this study was conducted to estimate the incidence detect risk factors leading in cases of obstructed left colonic carcinoma.Methods: This prospective research included 150 patients diagnosed underwent surgical intervention.Based on early mortality, they were divided into two groups; survival deceased ones.Results: Mortality encountered 19 (12.67%).The group showed older age higher male predominance compared survived one.Likewise, prevalence heart kidney disease same group.The expressed ASA APACHE II scores before operation.These had a shock longer duration symptoms.The intervention did not differ between groups.However, perforation intraabdominal free fluid significantly increased cases.In addition, post-operative complications ICU admission mortality.Conclusion: Old age, gender, ischemic disease, chronic class III, shock, symptom duration, fluid, tumor perforation, complications, significant such cases.Patients one or more previous should be well evaluated decrease risk.
