Verb Forms with Aspectual Semantics in Latin and Ancient Greek in the Text of the New Testament (Gospel of Mark)

The results of a comparative study verb forms with aspectual semantics in Ancient Greek (Koine) (which has an overt category aspect) and Latin (where aspect is rather covert category), based on the Gospel Mark, have shown that expected correspondence appears to be standard material as well: it found majority cases (97,6 % Aorist translated by Perfect, 89,4 Imperfect/Present Imperfect). Therefore, there must considerable semantic overlap between Perfect Imperfect forms. For each pair, common core, corresponding first case perfective, second imperfective viewpoints. In minority cases, we find deviations from this correspondence. Some them can explained trivial fact context allows freedom choice viewpoint. However, several discrepancies are not accidental existence specific differences grammatical systems two languages. These include iterative contexts speech verbs.
