ABSTRACT
Background: High mutation rates in HIV-1 could affect the accuracy of diagnostic tests. Therefore, recombinant antigen that has an immunodominant and conserved region from need to be developed detect infection Indonesia.Materials methods: The antigens comprise Gag (p24), Pol Env (gp41). Each was expressed Escherichia coli expression system purified using Ni-NTA chromatography. reactivity against HIV antibodies tested a group 50 HIV-positive plasma samples 45 HIV-negative immunoblot assay (RIBA) platform test. Moreover, 21 3 were also blot 2.2 compare RIBA with commercial western kit. Ten HBV-positive 10 HCV-positive used check cross-reactivity proteins RIBA.Results: All (100%) reactive towards Pol, Otherwise, assayed not protein. did produce any bands antigens. Few HBV HCV showed proteins. Conclusion: protein, (gp41), purified, as well had can test Indonesia. Keywords: diagnostic, HIV-1, immunodominant,
