ABSTRACT
Heart failure (HF) is the leading cause of hospitalization among older adults in United States. There are substantial racial and geographic disparities HF outcomes, with patients living southern US states having a mortality rate 69% higher than national average. Self-management behaviors, particularly daily weight monitoring physical activity, extremely important improving outcomes; however, typically have low adherence to these behaviors. With rise digital technologies improve health outcomes motivate sensor-controlled games (SCDGs) become promising approach. SCDGs, which leverage sensor-connected technologies, offer benefits being portable scalable allowing for continuous observation motivation behaviors their real-world contexts. They also becoming increasingly popular an immersive accessible way measure self-management adherence. No SCDGs been designed or evaluated test outcomes.
