Effects of the “AI-TA” Mobile App With Intelligent Design on Psychological and Related Symptoms of Young Survivors of Breast Cancer: Randomized Controlled Trial (Preprint)

ABSTRACT
<sec> <title>BACKGROUND</title> Young women often face substantial psychological challenges in the initial years following cancer diagnosis, leading to a comparatively lower quality of life than older survivors. While mobile apps have emerged as potential interventions, their effectiveness remains inconclusive due diversity intervention types and variation follow-up periods. Furthermore, there is particular dearth evidence regarding efficacy these apps’ intelligent features addressing distress with apps. </sec> <title>OBJECTIVE</title> This study aims evaluate app design called “<i>AI-TA</i>” on cancer-related health ongoing symptoms randomized controlled design. <title>METHODS</title> Women aged 18 45 diagnosed breast were randomly assigned or control group. The was <i>AI-TA</i>, which included 2-way web-based every 2 weeks. Both intention-to-treat (ITT) per-protocol (PP) analyses employed repeated measurement analysis variance. participants’ background features, primary outcomes (psychological frequency, self-efficacy, social support), secondary (quality life) measured using multiple instruments at 3 time points (baseline, 1-month intervention, 3-month intervention). <title>RESULTS</title> A total 124 participants allocated group (n=62, 50%) 50%). In total, 92.7% (115/124) completed intervention. Significant improvements (Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale-Short Form) observed ITT from baseline relative (ITT vs control: 1.17 1.23; <i>P</i>&lt;.001), persisted 0.68 0.91; <i>P</i>&lt;.001). PP groups exhibited greater self-efficacy (Cancer Behavior Inventory-Brief Version) 82.83 77.12 65.35; <i>P</i>&lt;.001) 92.83 89.30 85.65; However, change support (Social Support Rating Scale) did not increase significantly until 50.09 45.10; <i>P</i>=.002) (PP 49.78 All also experienced beneficial effects (Functional Cancer Therapy-Breast), (<i>P</i>&lt;.001). <title>CONCLUSIONS</title> <i>AI-TA</i> incorporating shows promise for reducing among young survivors cancer. <title>CLINICALTRIAL</title> Chinese Clinical Trial Registry ChiCTR2200058823; https://www.chictr.org.cn/showproj.html?proj=151195
