Transparency in Kidney Transplant Recipient Selection Criteria: A Nationwide Analysis Using AI (Preprint)

ABSTRACT
<sec> <title>BACKGROUND</title> Choosing a transplant program impacts patient’s likelihood of receiving kidney transplant. Most patients are unaware the factors influencing their candidacy. As increasingly rely on online resources for healthcare decisions, this study quantifies available patient-level information recipient (KTR) selection criteria across U.S. centers. </sec> <title>OBJECTIVE</title> Quantify <title>METHODS</title> A cross-sectional using natural language processing and large model was conducted to review centers websites from June August 2024. Links were explored up three levels deep, 31 guideline-recommended collected each center. <title>RESULTS</title> total 255 analyzed, comprising 10,508 webpages 9,113,753 words. Among criteria, only 2.6% present webpages. Socioeconomic behavioral mentioned more than those related patient medical conditions comorbidities. Of finances health insurance most frequently mentioned, appearing in 25.5% Other socioeconomic such as family social support systems, adherence, psychosocial assessment, addressed less 4%. No found any webpage 14 criteria. Geographically, disparities reporting observed, with South Atlantic division showing highest number distinct while New England had fewest. <title>CONCLUSIONS</title> KTR unavailable. The lack transparency pre-waitlist process involving may limit choosing suitable center successfully
