ABSTRACT
The essential oil was extracted from the leaves of Callistemon citrinus (Bottlebrush)by hydro-distillation using a Clevenger apparatus. component analysis carried out by GC-MS technique, which showed eucalyptol (56.47%), α-pinene (18.80%), and D-limonene (9.91%), as major compounds in C. oil. physicochemical parameters such yield percentage, specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation, acid value, saponification ester value were determined. antioxidant activities extracting oils determined DPPH assay radical scavenging activity (IC50) calculated. remarkable free effect observed bottlebrush with IC50 = 390.73 µg/mL. Bottlebrush (50% 100%) exhibited antimicrobial against all four selected strains bacteria (E. coli, S. aureus, B. subtilis, dysenteriae) well fungi (Candida albicans).
