ABSTRACT
Conservative management is generally the primary treatment for intramuscular hemangimas. However, many patients will require surgery later in their life, after suffering a long period of pain. We aimed to evaluate oncologic and functional outcomes as initial single-muscle hemangiomas.Medical profiles 17 with hemangiomas vastus medialis whom was selected were reviewed. The indication bothersome Postoperative muscle strength assessed manual testing (range 0-5). postoperative pain measured by visual analog scale (VAS) 0-10). Lyshölm-Tegner knee scoring used evaluation function. The mean age 25.9±8.6 years. Surgery performed wide resection 13 cases marginal 4 cases. At follow-up 55.76±30 months, two local recurrences (11.8%) observed. last session, grade 5/5 4/5 four patients. noticed (VAS=1). Knee function excellent good Both occurred marginally resected lesions. Three out reduced strength, pain, also treated resection. If surgical margin achievable without compromising limb function, could be considered choice hemangiomas.
