Comparison of Recovery Capital in Patients with Alcohol and Opioid Dependence - An Exploratory Study.

ABSTRACT
Recovery capital helps in the assessment of personal strengths and challenges that exist an individual with substance use which may have impact on recovery process. This study aims at finding out factors help such individuals to sustain their how these differ across two groups people suffering from Alcohol Dependence Syndrome Opioid Syndrome.A cross-sectional observational was designed where sociodemographic clinical variables, ARC (Assessment Capital) Scale Severity SDS (Severity Dependence) patients diagnosed (ADS group) those (ODS were assessed among not reporting withdrawal symptoms.A total 49 subjects ODS group 30 ADS enrolled. The majority both married, belonged urban areas, practiced Hinduism, living nuclear families. There a significant difference between educational status (p<0.001), religion age onset dependence severity (p=0.11), duration abstinence (p<0.001) groups. mean scores 45.9 (S.D. =3.5) 47.4 =4.3) group. had higher Social Support Domain (p=0.034) Housing Safety domain (p=0.025). Other domains like global health, citizenship, meaningful activities, risk-taking, coping, experience did significantly groups.This comparing patients. It also suggests tailored treatment plans for especially housing social support common approach other will them state longer term.
