ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study was to develop quantitative and qualitative criteria for diagnosing fatty liver on contrast-enhanced helical CT.Differential liver-spleen attenuation evaluated between 80 120 sec after injection in 76 patients who underwent CT. Unenhanced CT images had earlier established when minus spleen difference less than or equal -10 H (n = 18). Four observers not seen unenhanced used assess presence a five-point Likert scale, geographic areas spared from infiltration, relative attenuation. diagnostic accuracies various imaging were compared using McNemar's chi-square test (for sensitivity specificity) analysis receiver operating characteristic curves.Sensitivity, specificity, curve observers' judgments 54%, 95%, .91, respectively; differential (80-100 sec; -20.5 discriminatory value), values 86%, 87%, .94, (101-120 -18.5 93%, .98, respectively. Differential time-dependent; overlap noted healthy subjects with liver. Qualitatively, sparing highly specific (94%) liver, whereas greater excluded all but one case.Although can be determined, they are protocol-specific. Limited hepatic remains optimal technique detection infiltration
