ABSTRACT
The treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia with all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA) sometimes results in a syndrome characterized by fever, respiratory distress, weight gain, pleural and pericardial effusion, pulmonary infiltrates. We report the radiologic features ATRA syndrome.During past 5 years, 69 patients were treated ATRA. Of this group, 15 developed syndrome. Serial chest radiographs evaluated retrospectively for presence nodules, consolidation, ground-glass opacity, septal lines, increased blood volume, peribronchial cuffing, air bronchogram. Also, we measured cardiothoracic ratio vascular pedicle width.Chest showed 13 patients, width 13, volume lines nine, cuffing opacity consolidation seven, nodules seven. Pleural effusion was noted 11 bronchogram five patients. Pulmonary hemorrhage three who being ATRA; they bilateral, diffuse, poorly defined on radiography. Most have abnormal findings radiographs, abnormalities are similar to those edema.
