ABSTRACT
A series of functionalized 2-substituted benzimidazole motifs was designed and successfully synthesized via thermal cyclization 1,2-diaminobenzene on COOH end L- leucine to achieve derivatives 6 as the essential precursor. The coupling precursor with benzaldehyde a-h, ketone i-k, aryl sulfonyl chlorides l-n led formation targeted 7a-n in improved yields. were structurally authenticated through their spectral data microanalytical parameters. final moieties investigated for potential antimicrobial activity using agar diffusion method gentamicin clinical standard. All compounds had a broad spectrum compound 7k having highest remarkable MIC 0.98 ± 0.02 µg/mL MBC value 3.91 0.10 µg/mL. These findings suggest that containing camphor might be good candidate design new small-molecule drugs.
