ABSTRACT
This descriptive study investigated the economic suitability of electronic fare meters for tricycle drivers in Cabanatuan City, Philippines, using a stratified random sampling technique and self-made survey questionnaire. The research found that City generally operate under distance-based structure with varying passenger ridership daily income levels. While most were aware meters, their perceptions regarding potential benefits concerns mixed. Some expressed about upfront costs reductions, while others acknowledged fairer fares, improved trust, easier collection. Overall, findings suggest could offer particularly through increased efficiency potentially higher income. However, successful implementation requires careful consideration driver development strategies to address issues like affordability fluctuations.
