INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES IN MINDSCAPES AND ATTITUDES: AN EXPLORATORY CROSS-CULTURAL STUDY

ABSTRACT
In order to elicit correlates of Maruyama's (1992) mindscape types, 144 respondents from Germany, the Netherlands and Republic Georgia (70 men, 74 women, 48 each country) were given TOB figures pictures. Furthermore, their attitudes towards two technology items (high-speed trains nuclear power) registered. An optimal scaling procedure (OVERALS) was used for analyzing cultural gender-specific differences with regard types. Group in high-tech tested by means Chi-square analyses. The meaning results is discussed viewpoints hypothesis testing as contrasted construction an open-ended taxonomy.
