ABSTRACT
Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a neoplastic disease characterized by the idiopathic proliferation of cells. X-ray, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are often performed, pathology should be identified for definitive diagnosis. Single-system single-site lesions can treated surgical excision, but multi-system single-system multi-site challenging to treat excision alone; therefore, chemotherapy used after diagnosis through biopsy. We report LCH skull that was safely biopsied using preoperative ultrasound evaluation. A 2-year-old girl referred our hospital with suspected on CT evaluate head contusion. biopsy conducted definite diagnosis, administered because lesions. To ensure safe biopsy, ultrasonography performed relationship between tumors dura mater, venous sinus, blood flow inside tumors. The divided into bone lesion, part temporalis muscle in contact belly directly above capsular tendon membrane. cells were present only Preoperative sonographic helpful histiocytosis. Additionally, tumor, not surrounding tissue.
