ABSTRACT
This paper introduces a challenge of mutual knowledge development in the implementation Yonmnekaigi system as participatory workshop method to improve sand mining management local communities Merapi Volcano Indonesia. It was applied for formulation action plans on community-based Pilot Project implemented by Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta, Indonesia under Urgent Disaster Reduction Mt. Merapi, Progo River Basin (JICA Loan No.: IP-524) executed Directorate General Water Resources, Ministry Public Works, A called Yonmenkaigi method, originally developed community Japan, has following main steps: carrying out SWOT analysis, completing Chart, debating between groups, and presenting group plan. case study carried Kemiren village, August 2009, demonstrates how residents who are interested disaster mitigation can collaboratively develop an implementable plan Sand Mining Management community. Based above study, this categorically itemizes formalizes two types needed introducing cases The first type is that which generated outcome through process implementing whole set system. second shown be modeled “seed providers” “custom providers”. Illustrations made from field work results have been specifically described analyzed.
